Rosie-Rose

Written especially for Rose S.

This is a poem about you!
Now, who else dear, would you suppose?
Who else do I know with that name,
That name of a flower like Rose?

Roses are red, violets are blue—
You moved away—and I miss you!

Wow, you moved to Arizona!
Now how can we go out to eat?
I understand about your health—
Spending time with you was a treat!

Roses are red, violets are blue—
You moved away—and I miss you!

I’m sorry we did not do more
While you were just five miles away.
Memories and my poetry
I’m left with, to take up my day.

Roses are red, violets are blue—
You moved away—and I miss you!

You are two time zones away now.
All I have is the mail and phone.
I’ll have to hug you on paper—
Because I sit here all alone.
